I serve on the national CoSN board, and am currently the immediate past chair of that board. I am also the immediate past-president of the board of METAA, the state chapter of CoSN, and I recently served seven years on the board of MassCUE, the Massachusetts ISTE affiliate. I am a Google Certified Teacher and a Google Certified Trainer.

CoSN is an association specifically for school district technology leaders, and it most strongly represents the role of the district technology leader in its advocacy, research, professional development events, and initiatives. I recommend joining!

A Little History

I began my blog back in July of 2008 after having been an avid reader of educational blogs  for a few years. I have used this blog to help form my own personal learning network, as inspired by Will Richardson’s article in on Cue, back in 2008 – Building Your Own PLN. I was then editor of the MassCUE publication, on Cue, and  asked Will for an article about blogging and using blogs to develop PLNs. I assume his article inspired others, as well. Blogging and reading the blogs of others served as my first steps in participating in online conversations about technology and education, contributing to the dialog, and connecting with my tribe.

Technical Side of this Blog

About the technical side of the blog ~ I use wordpress, which I downloaded and installed on a hosting site, GoDaddy. I use the Thesis wordpress theme, a premium theme that is not free. I chose it for its versatility, readability, and SUPPORT (an awesome concept). The new header image  was designed by a talented designer friend, Gaby Richard-Harrington of Strategy 2 Design.

Looks great! I’m looking into the same kind of thing. I’ve been using Blogger just as a start – But I’ve heard good things about GoDaddy, I’ll get back to you if I have more questions…
