About
My name is Jean Tower and K12EduBuzz.com is my blog. I began my blog back in July of 2008 after having been an avid reader of educational blogsĀ for a few years. I use this blog to help form my own personal learning network, as inspired by Will Richardson’s article in on Cue (http://masscue.org/oncue/oncuespring08/BuildingYourOwnPLN.pdf ). I am also interested in participating in the online conversation about technology and education, contributing to the dialog, and connecting with readers and authors of other blogs.
I am a K-12 Technology Director in The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough, a regional school district west of Boston.
You can email me at jeantower @ rcn.com.
I am a member of the board of MassCUE , president of the board of METAA , and a member of the Educational Technology Advisory Committee . I am on the editorial board of MASCD and serve on the national CoSN board.
CoSN is an association specifically for school district technology leaders, and it most strongly represents the role of the district technology leader in its advocacy, research, professional development events, and initiatives. I recommend joining!
About the technical side of the blog ~ I use wordpress, which I downloaded and installed on a hosting site, GoDaddy. I use the Thesis wordpress theme, a premium theme that is not free. I chose it for its versatility, readability, and SUPPORT (an awesome concept). The new header imageĀ was designed by a talented designer friend, Gaby Richard-Harrington of Strategy 2 Design.
